Denian Arcoleo

About

Denian Arcoleo (born 1963) spent his childhood in various countries during which time he learned how to play the classical guitar, studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Dartington College Devon. Denian Arcoleo is now returning to the concert platform after a break in his career. He took a long sabbatical in order to raise his four wonderful children and during that hiatus his practice and enthusiasm for the guitar never waned.

Denian has performed in many and varied places such as the major music festivals at Warwick, Truro, Endellion, and Frome amongst others; St Martin-in-the-Fields, many recitals in beautiful churches around Britain; abroad in Dubai, France, Italy and Belgium. He has performed as soloist, as part of the Domani flute and guitar duo with his wife Helen, as part of the Cuatro guitar quartet (Queen Elizabeth Hall) and in partnership with Agustin Fernandez (Latin American music for Charango and guitar) in many varied venues. As a youngster he worked for Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now foundation and performed in a great variety of places which don't normally get to hear high quality live music. Denian is also a recording artist and studio musician, recently contributing his guitar artistry to the new Vanessa Freeman album being produced by Mike Patto.
Since the end of 2007 Denian has been working very closely with Gilbert Biberian, one of the greatest composers for the classical guitar alive today, on a project to record many of Biberian's major compositions for the instrument. The first part of this project is available for purchase right now in the shop page of this website.

Denian is also a composer for his instrument and is in the process of recording the first CD of his own music, which will include his Fantasy Folksongs and the Sonatina. The CD will appear on these pages.
